Im about to twin turbo my Z what should I replace to handle the added power?
I've got a 2006 Nissan 350Z, I'm about to buy a Greddy Twin Turbo kit for it. What should I replace/upgrade to handle the extra power that the turbo adds?
ANSWER: (Because the 350z has high compression pistons and combustion chambers you may need to completely rebuild the motor before turbos go on. Second cooling system upgrades bigger oil cooler and radiator. Plastic composite drive shaft needs to be replaced too. Bigger wheels tires and large brakes so you can control the power and stop. Hood with extra vents cut into it so heat can be removed from the engine compartment. Several 350 turbocharged car I have worked on needed special oil pans for turbo oil return tubes. Automatic trans cars do not turbocharge very well trans gets in the way heat issues. Any A/C hoses along the left side exhaust manifolds need to be insulated. You start with a kit then you have to re-engineer the entire car. Good Luck)

Want to get a sub 4 second 0-60 on a 350z?
6 speed manual, the APS twin turbo kit is $6,800 as it is and i was wondering if i could achieve those times without having to go forged internals, which would run another 8k or so. Or should I suck it up and start on the engine now?
ANSWER: (The problem with turbo KIT is it is just a starting point for all the other modifications. In order to have enough traction you may have to widen the rear fenders for wider rims too. Your engine's high compression now will not allow enough boost so motor rebuilding oil pan extension oil coolers and other modifications for longevity will be needed. Relocating the A/C hoses so they don't burn also helps. Removing the A/C here in Texas is not a option.)

What to look for when buying a turbo charger for a nissan 350z?
Alright so i'm getting a 2003 Nissan 350z in August and I was wondering if anyone could give me like a guide for buying a complete turbo kit. I know its a lot but if you could give me a rundown of every part I need and any engine mods, etc that i would have to add on to getting a turbo. I'm a beginner at all of this stuff so the more information the better. O also what are some average turbo brands (im not looking to spend anywhere over id say 5k for everything...well unless i need too)Thanks, Bryce
ANSWER: (If you want to save money, then your best bet would be to not turbocharge it. Just doing some basic research, here's what I found on one website (horsepowerfreaks.com):GReddy twin-turbo kit, with eManage for fuel delivery: $5435.59GReddy twin-turbo kit, bigger turbos and intercooler and options for fuel: $7565.00HKS GT-RS (disco potato) twin turbo kit:$5670.00Power Enterprise complete twin turbo kit:$8977.76Also, from doing a google search of companies that I've seen with turbo kits for the 350Z:dyno-comp.comAPS Twin Turbo System: $5995 (they also offer a single turbo system, but I can't find the price)gtmpower.com GTM APS Twin turbo Stage 1 System Installed $9995gtmpower.com APS Single Turbo System: $5595turbo-kits.comTurbonetics single turbo kit:$4995SFR Single Turbo Kit:$6899.99 complete The other option would be to get a supercharger.Vortech supercharger: $5945.95 (from vortech)stillen positive displacement supercharger:$5328HKS Rotrex Supercharger:$6799 Either way, forced induction for a 350Z is expensive. I guess I'm spoiled that I can build a supercharger setup for less than $2000 for my mustang.)

evo 9 mr ams gt42r turbo kit or 2008 350z with greddy twin turbo kit?
I was wondering because my brother is driving the 350z with the greddy twin turbo and I want to know if the evo 9 mr is faster if I get the ams gt42r turbo kit in a 1/4 mile drag or in a curcuit
ANSWER: (The GT42R will not be very helpful unless you have a built engine. The 350z only makes around 360-370 rwhp with the Greddy kit. If you put on a AMS GT30R or even a GT35R ( a bit more spool time) you will be able to destroy the 350Z. I have a Evo 8 with the Peakboost GT3076R kit with A AEM EMS tuned at AMS and it made 559.6 awhp at 30psi of boost on the stock block, and stock head minus buddy club 264/272 cams, and a snow performance methanol kit.)

What do you know about this 350z turbo kit?
http://momentumperformce.com/products
ANSWER: (I know its still in the testing phase. There are a few other turbo kits that you might want to consider....that have been proven to be reliable. Looks like its going to be pretty expensive too. But there is A LOT more than slapping on a turbo kit and hauling arse. Tuning, install, bells and whistles, rims and fatter tires to put the power to the ground...... hope this helps)

Should I put a turbo and a chip on an A4, or should I get a 350z/audi TT quattro 3.2?
I have an audi A4 but I want something faster. It is an automatic transmission and it is the 2.0T. I am debating either chipping the A4 and putting some kind of turbo kit on it, possible other upgrades. Or I can just get rid of it and get an 350Z. There is currently an audi TT quattro 3.2L for sale with 75,000 miles for 23k which is lookin pretty nice right about now too. Any feedback, info about the turbo kits, or cars would be greatly appreciated as well.
ANSWER: (Your car already has a turbocharger on it. . .)

how much HP would these additions make from a 350z?
Greddy Twin Turbo TD05H-18G Kit, Infiniti G35/ Nissan 350z *Greddy Manifold & Downpipes, *Greddy Dual Intake w/ Greddy Filters + Hard Pipes & Cuplers, *Greddy FMIC + Pipes & Cuplers, *Greddy Dual wastegates *Greddy e-Manage piggy back computer *440CC RC engineering injectors *two Airinx Filter assembelies *Two Cast Turbo Manifolds *Intercooler 3 Row chiller with cast aluminum outlet dual inlet Single outlet *Borla hi-power Cat back exhaust *strup test pipes *AEM Water Methanol Injection, *AEM True Boost Controller? im just asking cuz im looking at one with these parts in it and wondering what it might produce. thank you
ANSWER: (Because the 350 motor has high compression you will not be able to apply high boost. The above modifications can blow up the stock motor and you will not hear the detonation and spark knock. With everything above you should get nearly 500 rear wheel HP. I have worked on several 600+ hp 350z but those cars have huge brake rotors and rebuilt motors for turbocharging and run on 105 octane or higher fuel to make almost 625 rear wheel horsepower. I don't see enough cooling oil and water and if you really want boost get a larger inter cooler. Borla Exhaust is to quiet you may want to rethink Stillen Exhaust or Greddy. Overtaking speed with a 600 hp car is dangerous so be very careful larger wheels bigger brakes and high speed tires are a must.)

Tuning tips for a Nissan 350Z?
Here is some random, unnecessary backstory (lol): I just started a new job that pays quite a bit, as long as I work well. I had been looking around forever trying to find the perfect tuner car. I really wanted a Mercedes-Benz SLK350, but I could never find any aftermarket parts for it. I then test drove a Hyundai Genesis. I liked it, but I find it hard to trust Hyundai when they have only ever made cars for the average consumer. I finally arrived basically back where I started---the Nissan 350Z. I am looking at probably spending about 23,000 on a 2008 350Z. I found a very nice twin turbo kit from GReddy that, with the right tuning, can add about 140+ hp to the Z. I've also looked at a website called ultimatez.com that states that with a supercharger from Pro Charger, the car can reach right around 508hp without adding a new, light weight underdrive pulley system and other things such as high performance intakes. I concluded that with a nice arrangement of the right intake systems and lightweight pullies that I could, with the right supercharger, achieve an estimated 540hp, and maybe the torque to match. Now to my two largest questions: Would I need a better, stronger short block engine to replace the stock engine? Also, I cannot seem to decide between a Twin Turbo or a Supercharger. They both add substantial amounts of horsepower. The GReddy twin turbo system can add between 150 horsepower and a mindblowing 400 horsepower, but with twin turbos, or so I've heard, there seems to be a bit of lag? How will this lag feel when I'm behind the wheel? Also, if I feel a little greedy later on for some insane amounts of HP, can I add a stronger block with better pistons so that I can pair both the GReddy twin turbo with the supercharger? In the end, I hope to have a very lean car that will prove fun to drive to work and back, but also be a tough adversary on the track. Any extra tips would be greatly appreciated.I do apologize for the run-on paragraph. It seems my writing abilities have decreased over time. I am an educated college student, and I do not appreciate insults of my intelligence. I don't try to insult your intelligence, so please do not insult mine. Now, to the added details. My friend and I are taking the 350Z and all the parts I buy to a performance shop in Georgia. The shop has all the things we will need to tune in and bring the car and the aftermarket parts to their full potential. Also, let's say that I tune it on the dyno to around 500hp and, for the hell of it, 480 lb-ft. of torque. Can anyone take the information and give me a rough estimate as to what my 0-60 and 1/4 mile time would most likely be?
ANSWER: ("so that I can pair both the GReddy twin turbo with the supercharger" Stupid idea. Gets asked about weekly, and there is 100% no reason to even bother. Complete waste of money, and you will not get some kind of amazingly powerful car. As far as the lag goes, instead of turbos kicking in at 2000rpm, it might be 3000rpm, etc. Also, you said the key word: "I could" achieve ...... For example, if you buy an intake that advertises "up to 10-15 horsepower!"....that's a maximum possibility. You might get zero gains. Same with exhaust. If the turbo system isn't tuned properly, you could actually gain zero horsepower from it. I've seen quite a few people spend thousands of dollars on parts, and end up with less than stock horsepower, because they only read "10-15 horsepower" part, and ignored the "up to" part of it. Last note, since your giant run-on paragraph is annoying to read....it takes a lot more than just horsepower to be any sort of adversary on a track. Horsepower wins brags. Torque wins drags. And 1,000 other things are needed for any other kind of track race.)

Nissan 350z APS Twin Turbo Kit Help?
Hey, I'm looking at the APS Twin Turbo Kit for a Nissan 350z and was wondering if you can still use aftermarket headers with it, or if there are any restrictions on what you can add to the car after installing the turbos? Thanks!
ANSWER: (you cant use headers because the turbo manifold is the headers basically. also youll need a turbo timer, and if u wanna have complete control a manual boost contoller, might i reccomend checking out STS turbos to. aps is known for heatsoak and alot of my gto forum guys who have them are breaking down alot. good luck with your decision, oh and one more thing, your drive train wont hold the power so your gunna need these, new trans, drive shaft, axles etc. it gets pricy.)

best way to increase Nissan 350z hp?
what is the best way to increase hp and acceleration in a nissan 350z. Lowest priced also, and by how much hp. Would a performance chip be helpful or turbo kit. chips on ebay are $70. for example this turbo http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T3T4-TURBO-KIT-INFINTI-350Z-G35-G20-M30-J30-Q45-I30-I35_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1171Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem414746df69QQitemZ280368701289QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQQsalenotsupported#ht_3886wt_1197 good or bad?
ANSWER: (It really depends on what year Z you have. I'm guessing you have one of the older models, so I'll give you advice based on that. If it's a 2003-2005 look for a plenum spacer. This will proabably yield the best hp/$. Also look at catback exhausts with testpipes or hfc. Intakes really don't do too much for these cars but people still buy them for moderate gains and sound. Look for a popcharger if you go this route. (only about $100). Nitrious is something you can look at if you want hp on demand, but make sure you do it right otherwise you're going to run into problems. You should proabably be able to get a nice setup for around $~600. Gears will help you accelerate faster, but don't really give you any hp. This would also be soemthing to consider. Now that turbo you linked is a knockoff. Chances are it won't even work and even if you get it set up, good luck finding a tuner to tune that thing. If you don't your engine will be gone within a week. The CHEAPEST turbo or supercharger for the Z will be around 4000-5000. The twin turbos go up to and surpass 10k. Chips do nothing either, you're wasting your time. You can however look to get your car reflashed and tuned, but you shouldn't do that until you actually do some real mods to you car.)

Can someone help me with my 350z?
Ive been reading Import Tuner for about 3 years now and have since been extremely psyched on the cars they feature. I have recently purchased a 350z and really want to create my own tuner. Can someone help me? Im kind of a noob at this. I just need help on the engine. What sort of parts should i purchase? I have already decided on twin turbos but i don't know which brand i should get. I really like the greddy twin turbo kit for the 350z.
ANSWER: (It depends on what year Z you got. from 2003-2006 Stillen offers a supercharger than gives a slight bump in HP. It's not as big of an increase and turbo chargers are but it comes with a warranty. There are quite a few turbo's for the Z, both single and twin. You will have to research each one (my350z.com is a good place to start) but just know that the stock internals for a 2003-2006 Z aren't very strong and can only handle about 400 whp before you blow your engine. The 07-08 Z have the HR engine with 80% new internals and can handle about 500 whp safely. However only twin turbos are offered (meaning close to 10k here) Either way if you really plan on going FI talk to a tuner about installation costs and plans. It's hard to come here and expect expert answers for this sort of thing. Look to fork out some $$$$$$$ though. This won't be a cheap project.)

Question about mods for a 2008 350z...?
What mods would help me in achieving a good amount of HP gain? Excluding a turbo kit. And are chips for this car even worth it?
ANSWER: (Intake for the 350z does not add much since the stock Intake is pretty good.So an aftermarket Intake like Nismo, Injen, or AEM, you would get you 5-6HP. Exhaust system would add 8-15HP. A Chip would help increase that power by 20% if you tune it right.Someone I know with a Z got a Pleneth or Plenan Spacer. I forgot the exaxct name. But it lets more air go into the engine, giving 10HP according to the package my friend got it in. And more simpler stuff like performance sparkplugs and higher octane gas than 91 would add 1-5HP.)

Best size twin turbo setup?
I have a 2008 350z and was planning on going with a twin turbo setup. rather than order a kit and get small turbos i plan on building a kit and was wondering what size turbos i should go with. i know smaller means more acceleration and bigger means more power but i just want the perfect balance.
ANSWER: (Re Engineering a turbo system requires lot's of experience. Not only in the tubing size but also in how much more fuel you need to spray in. Stock 350 Z engines have high compression pistons. So you rebuild your motor stronger connecting rods a good idea. I repair the cars that come in with 625 hp on race fuel 550 hp on pump gas set ups. These cars are not well balanced my any measure. Just the size rims necessary and the extra body work to clear the 20" rear wheels and the larger stop tech brakes to make the car stop. Everything your about to do is costly and time consuming. One car took three attempts to make it right. Imagine not driving your car a whole year while the motor gets pulled out three times. Be very careful selecting a shop they better know what there doing. Ask there customers how well the shop did when there was problems (oh yes there will be problems) Just remember there is some one else who has spent more money that can out run you. Just trade in now buy a GT-R. Your going to have that much money in your 350z when it is done with out any warranty.)

can anyone give me advice about my 2005 nissan 350z?
hi i need some advice i want to put a t3t4 twin turbo kit on my 350Z are they any good? my 305z pushes 290 horsepower how much more will the t3t4 twin turbo give it?? can any one help me??
ANSWER: (The kits you can buy vary in quality. You should never purchase the cheapest kit you find on ebay. I recommend lurking on the Z33 forums to find out how they go about turbocharging. You might be better off piecing together your own kit, but you might not. There are many kits out there that are absolutely no good and carry a good chance of ruining your car. Just make sure you buy quality parts and get them installed/tuned by people that know what they are doing. I can guarantee you will regret it if you dont. Like steve said above power will vary depending on boost level. You must make sure your injectors, fuel pump, and ECU are up to the task. If not, your motor is done. You should also do your research if you find a quality kit. For the 240sx GReddy made a kit that was supposed to be CARB legal. The kit itself is crap for what the cost is. Unfortunately that was one of the only quality kits out there. In that situation people were better off building their own kits. Good luck and make sure you do it right.)

helpp 350zzzzzzzzzz greddy TT?
I have friend he have greddy twin turbo on his car, but his car is manual and he wanna sell the kit and i wanna buy... but the poblem is my 350z is automatic, do you think will fit on my z with out poblem???
ANSWER: (First of all, do you even know what your talking about?? Your spelling/grammar is horrible. Yes, a twin turbo set up should fit either way. Transmission shouldn't matter. Secondly I would never take a turbo off of another persons engine and install it on mine. The oil that runs through a turbo can ruin an engine, and swapping bad parts from one car to another can ruin two cars engines. Not a good idea.)

07 350z turbo kit purchase?
I have an 07 350z and am planning to get twin turbos. I was looking around the internet and was wondering when you buy a turbo and they install it, is it by credit, payments or do you have to pull the whole cash right there. California is coming down strong on engine mods, so am i looking at problems with johnny law.
ANSWER: (You will need to pay for the kit in full, and probably 1/2 the labor to get it installed. The twin turbo setup installed is about $10,000-$12,000 with the kit. It is easier to remove the whole motor and install it than trying to get at it in the car. It actually SAVES about 7-9 hours. The absolute best kit for your car is the APS twin turbo kit. Go to www.airpowersystems.com and check it out. My wife has a 2005 roadster with the twin turbo kit and it absolutely screams. It made 427.1 rwhp on 10 psi, Invidia N1 exhaust, Kinetix intake manifold, and APS cat deletes. Remember that the 2005 has 20ish less HP than the 07 with the twin throttle bodies too.)

Should I get this Turbo for my Nissan 350z?
I want to turbo my 2004 Nissan 350z Touring Roadster. However, I don't know too much about cars. I saw this turbo kit in eBay and thought it was pretty cheap. what should i get as my first car?
i'm 17 years old looking to get a pretty quick car, maybe something like an is300, 350z, or an rsx type-s, since they're all in the 12-17$ price range, also im looking forward to throwing some light mods on at first then maybe a turbo or supercharger, yes i know the insurance is gonna be expensive. also what about a scion tC? and then throwing HKS hi-power exhaust with CAI(cold air intake) and eventually throwing a TDR supercharger kit. also RWD, FWD, or AWD, doesn't matter to me. any information would be appreciated, thank you.
ANSWER: (if you dont mind a 2 seater then your best bet is a 350z. it already comes with a decent suspension and a really sharp look to it. the wrx is nice but it is very heavy and it will cost alot of money to upgrade. i personally would go for a ford mustangGT or a vw gti. the mustang is cheap and super cheap to upgrade, it looks nice and theres nothing like the sound of a V8. the GTI is very nice, comes turbo charged, 4cyl, nice suspension. and super fun to drive. For your age I would pick this one. PS acura IS a honda lol)

how can i get more psi out of my 350z with my Twin Turbo kit. most 350z R around 9 psi.?
ANSWER: (7 psi nominal and 9 psi max is all the 10 to 1 pistons can take detonation will melt away the spark plug tips and over heat the piston tops. The result is not nice to the engine. I work on several maxed out 625 hp 350Z cars and it was very expensive for the owners to master just the right compression and fuel to keep the motors from comming apart. Racing connecting rods special pistons CYL head machining and larger oil sump and oil coolers. Good Luck)

were can i buy a rear mount turbo kit ?
for my 06 nissan 350z
ANSWER: (i advise against it. the rear turbo takes sooooo long to spool up that it doesnt even produce boost in most driving situations, and the restriction is still there causing a noticable drop in performance. i work at a dealership and have tried several different vehicles with this setup. to me absolutely horrible, a full blown gimmick that is a total waste of money. if you are going turbo then do it right, dont waste time trying to cut corners it is not worth it.)

i want to turbo my 350z
its an 03 with 34k, 6 speed of course. My question is as dumb as it may be. i have my mind made up that i want to twin turbo it. I will have the money at some point soon. What other parts do i need after buying say the Greddy tt kit from a site. I just need a complete list of mods that i need in order to be able for it to withstand say 12-14 psi if need be. i would run it low while traveling, but these darned evo"s are shaming me although I'm shifting flawlessly!. Given they are faster. i dont know what else i will need on top of the tt kit to bee able to handle the boost. I figure i need pistons rods rings crank,.fuel pump, jecters. an ecu flash. spark pluggies. Thats all i can think of. I know in some cars the valve train tends to be on the weakside. Im just afraid at that point ill need the suspension to handle the power and all these other mods to strengthen every thing. So if anyone can help in what else i need to purchase along with the turbo kit from the site. thanks in advance because i dont know how to Repost on here. lolol
ANSWER: (All I can say is I hope you have a small truck to drive and carry your motor to and from the machine shop. ASK the Greedy Guys if the AC hoses get relocated. You will need a stronger dirve shaft stock width tires won't put the power your about to make to the ground. And you will need much larger brakes to control the car. I work on a customers 625 hp on racing fuel 2003, 350z that car has over $30,000 modifications The custom tunner shop had the engine in and out (blown up) three times before they got the right combination of fuel injectors and pistons and computer tuning so if you want the engine to last more than a couple accelerations. Yes expect to lean out and burn a set of pistons or detonate the valves away. And traveling you don't travel very far between fill ups and by the time you blow up two or three motors you will be scared to travel anywhere. What your doing is going to be very costly. Almost so costly that you could sell the 03 and buy a GTR)

Best/Fastest Car for around 20k.?
Im going to get a new car soon. I have around 20k to spend on it. I was thinking of going with a honda civic si. But the civic si is rather slow doing 0-60 in about 6.7. I'm not sure if i can put a turbo on it. I prefer sports coupes with fast 0-60 times between 5-6 seconds. Essentially as fast as possible with around 20 grand. I can buy it used or new. I prefer Japanese cars because of their reliability. I will most likely modify the internals and put a body kit on the car. I'll settle for used cars, or new cars. Im also not sure what new cars are coming out. Just some cars i was thinking of were: Civic SiMitsubishi Eclipse GTCobalt SSUsed Lancer Evolution 8/9 Used Dodge Srt-4Used Acura RSXUsed Acura IntegraUsed Mazda RX-7Used Supra TurboUsed Celica GTSUsed 350z Any other suggestions?
ANSWER: (Well, you could order a new mini cooper for 18,050.. basic model. Its a car made for racing, extremely safe, reliable, safe, and 37 plus gas mileage.)

Am I wrong or what? I recently was told by a high performance?
shop in Villa Park, Ill, that I can put a twin turbo kit on my 350Zthat would give me 550 hp without modifying my engine. Idisagree, because without the proper change in the internals, heads, crankshaft and pistons, a turbo of that magnitude willoverwork a stock motor, increase excess heat and workload leading to possible predetonation and engine damage. What do you think?
ANSWER: (Because you would only be at 550 hp for such a short time (seconds) unless you constantly drive at 6800 rpm's towing and 10,000 lb trailer most of your worries are unfounded. I know by various kits of turbos and belt driven superchargers that this engine is safe to approx 525 hp---- most of these kits why increasing your horsepower do not increase your torque as much, but even still require judgment when gear shifting and hitting the throttle. You have a good knock detection sensor on the engine--as long as you don't reprogram the ecm in most cases it will derate and change timing to avoid predetonation. Companies like Vortech and Paxton make superchargers kits that include innercooler that don't require exhaust work or bringing extra exhaust piping and heat into the engine compartment. There is a big difference between building a race car and one that is used on the streets. how often do you get a chance to use the power and speed for anything longer than 5-30 seconds. Once your up to 180 miles an hour your out of gears, out of engine rpm's, and only takes approx 245 hp to maintain that speed in a 350z. Stick in a pryo sender to watch the exhaust temps. This is real life folks not "fast and Furious"--your not racing full out for 30 min and poping off bottles of NOS. Just about any change to the engine; besides a cold air intake: voids the warranty. Including Chipping or a programer. I work/ and have worked at factory shops--- I can easily tell the last 10 devises that are plugged into OBD2, 1939,1708, or Can that have been plugged in, made any changes, or erased and fault code--the information is footprinted in .)

Nissan 350z turbo?
I want a turbo kit for my nismo 35z but i dont know what brand i should go with....or where to order from. help plz.
ANSWER: (Keep in mind that more than 7 psi boost your going to have to lower your compression that means motor rebuild. Most single turbo systems can use the stock compression. Adding boost opens another can of worms more fuel larger injectors intercoolers and oil coolers and electronic boost controllers. Nismo Z was rare enough to become a classic if you can keep the front and rear bumpercovers and spoilers from being curb dammaged.)

nissan 350z?
-I want to turbo a 350z and I am looking at different apps. and I found that HKS has a 350z twin turbo kit (is this better than one turbo) and I saw that Stillen has a 350z supercharger kit. -Which is better and does the supercharger kit scream like other superchagers?
ANSWER: (turbos will typically give you better gains, and with the small displacement of the 350z, you don't want anything else drawing torque from the crank (like a supercharger))
