turbo kit for a 240sx? HELP real quickk!?
http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CXR&Product_Code=TRB-KIT-KA24DE-T04E is this a legit kit? im only planning on running like its minimal psi. i just want BOOST. idc how much to be honest..yet any help is appreciated.spending 3grand on a greddy turbo kit or a QUALITY kit is outa the question. its either this or an ebay turbo kit. any help is appreciated thanks.
ANSWER: (that kit will actually cost MORE in the long run getting it running than the Greddy kit. This kit has no intercooler, charge pipes, bow off valve, injectors, fuel pump, engine management, it's missing ALOT of necessary components just to be installed on the car. Of course after install you will need a tune also, which the Greddy kit has the Emanage already tuned and all you have to do is plug it in and drive. Also I can GUARANTEE the welds on the manifold will crack in a month or two, and the turbo is a cheap china made hunk of metal that will break. PLEASE do not become one of those people who try to skimp on this as it will not only cost just as much as a quality kit once it's installed, but 9 times out of 10 blow you motor as well. There is a reason stuff like this costs money, because it's made right.)

What do I need to rebuild the head of my motor?
What do I need to rebuild the head of my motor? I am turbo charging my ka24de but before I do I need to rebuild my head. I already rebuilt my block but I have no idea what I need for my head. I am going for 500-600 whp. What do I need? Cams, Valve Springs, Retrainers, Exhaust Valves...etc...? What should I get? What should I do? Brian Crower Cams? Supertech Dual valve spring kit? What should I get? What's the best?I already have a machine shop.
ANSWER: (Your not going to be able to rebuild the head your self, that's what machine shops are for, but beware- find a good one. You can call some tuner shops and ask them what machine shop they recommend, so you can find a good one. As far as the components, you'll need the advice of someone FAMILIAR with the motor, and what your trying to do to it. You can do a google search for forums of people running that motor, by car make/ model eg: "350Z forum" and ask there. Stop by and talk to the tuners at a tuner shop that specializes or at least in familiar with the engine, and explain what your trying to achieve with it. You'll need to get parts sources and exact parts you'll need to get for your SPECIFIC APPLICATION. A machine shop will have to do the work on the Head though, if you want it to work under those (600-700 fwhp= 500-600rwhp- LOL) kinds of pressures, seal right under those pressures, and last. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa293/CFrank773/TopEndR_Bg006.jpg)

How to supercharge and turbocharge at the same time?
I no it can be done, but how? i want my supercharger to run to so many revs, then let the turbo kit in for the rest, so you get constant boost all the way through the rev gauge. anyone know how to do it? if anyone has any links or step by step insturctions would be great, cheers =)it shouldnt matter but my engine is a KA24DE just in case.
ANSWER: (Honestly its not worth the headache of working it all out, spending all the money and investing all the time. If you really wanna go through with it you need to either get in contact with a good engineer, or somebody that has already done it on a similar car. I've seen a couple of them on the internet, they are all overly complicated and require lots of time and money for very little gain. Asking this on yahoo answers may lead you nowhere.)

Nissan 240sx?? 6,000 is it worth it?
There is a guy down the street from my house selling a 1993 Nissan 240sx it is a blue-ish purple and it has a body kit with a slight crack that could be sealed with some bondo it has deep dished racing rims darkend back lights and an exhaust system and it has a start up car alarm from the key chain...it has a KA24DE in it and it had a turbo but he took it out and cold air intake and its automatic he took out the sound system out of the back had a wing but took it off but it runs perfect I'm not sure how many miles..so is that to much for that 240sx or that a good buy???Its really niceHaha yeah thats what I'm saying just drop a SR20DET in it...and yeas i know what kind of swap that is that would be real nice to do to it so shoyld i talki him down to about 3,000 for it or less
ANSWER: (Maybe if it had a 2JZ in it. otherwise you better love it and plan to keep it forever. I myself do not have that long of an attention span. Not a good buy, just a spare parts car or driver.)

KA24DE turbo kit?
whats a good turbo kit for the 240SX, 1991? links please...
ANSWER: (Head over to.. www.ka-t.org More info then you could ever wish for! Also check out www.jgstools.com Best way is to make a kit out of mostly SR turbo parts. If you take your time and buy used you can get about 250hp for under $1500. Stay away from ebay kits. Manifolds fall apart and the turbo may put peices of metal into your engine.)

KA24de turbo set up help?
i have a 98 240sx and looking towards getting it turbo. i have no idea with wat kind of turbo set up to got with? i was thinking the greddy turbo kit but then is it worth it and isn't the turbo too big?? help me guys
ANSWER: (the greddy turbo is good. i think AMS performance makes some turbos for it. as long as you keep the hp under 300 i think it was then the block should be fine with stock internals. keep the pressure low until you rebuild the engine. AMS performance is a company that are pros with the KA24. they sponsor a 9 second 240sx like yours.)

greddy turbo kit fit on the first generations with the ka24de?
since the first and second generation 240sx both had the same basic chassis and starting from 1990 i think they all had the ka24de upgraded one, why does greddy specifically say their turbo is only for the second generation 240sx?what? but the s13's after 1990 had the dohc engine too, the same one as the s14's
ANSWER: (The '89 and '90 U.S. model 240SX was fitted with the KA24E engine which was a SOHC (single overhead cam engine). 1991 and later models were fitted with the KA24DE, which was the DOHC variant. Besides the engine differences, different chassis were used during the 240's production life. In the United States, the '89-'94 model years were the S13 chassis, while the '95-98 was the S14 chassis. In short, the Greddy KA turbo kit is for an S14 car powered by a KA24DE. While a 1990 is an S13 powered by a KA24E. EDIT:Added to address the Askers "Additional Details": As I stated in my original answer, the Greddy turbo kit is designed to fit an S14 with a KA24DE. Not an S13, regardless if it has a KA24E or KA24DE. Even with identical motors the layout of the chassis and engine compartment is different. So though the kit will physically bolt on to the engine, there would be clearance issues on the S13. All of the associated plumbing is designed to be routed around the S14's engine compartment, not the S13's. It's that simple.)

Does anyone know where i can get some cheap turbo kits for a ka24de-nissan 240sx?
-im just looking to add mild boost-around 10psi-i very much prefer it not be generic(if they even make them)-engine>2.4L ka24de>1995 nissan 240sx-budget around 1,500-any ideas/tips accepted(no sr20 swaps tho)-car has 110k miles but engine is like new>would i also need a rebuild?
ANSWER: (just buy a manifold and piece together a kit. grab a turbo from a dsm or something, an intercooler from an evo. it doesnt take much work. just be sure to get something to control the fuel and hit the dyno for a good tune)

sr20det CAS, and tuning?
1st question, does the sr20det CAS fit in a ka24de? i saw a picture of a ka24det with a CAS like the sr20 has. 2nd question, is a stand alone ecu, piggyback ecu necessary for a ka24det running about 8 psi (turbonetics stage 1 turbo kit) or a safc/afc neo would be good with no problem(hesitations, wierd position on map?)? if stand alone ecu or piggy back ecu around how much does tunning it cost? sorry for the noob questions haha, not a ecu tunning wiz, learning something everydaythanks, how bout if i run 12 psi with 8.8:1 pistons forged connecting rods, 264 camshaft, 550cc fuel injectors, walbro fuel pump etc. would safc/afc neo be good enough or would i need a piggyback/stand alone ecu?
ANSWER: (The turbonetics kit at 8 psi has everything you need. It has a boost timing master that uses your distributer and vacuum/boost lines to actually retard the timing as boost pressure increases. It also has the MF2 which is basically a simple fuel injector controller for the two extra fuel injectors the kit comes with. As far as tuning, the car with the turbonetics kit will run perfectly with no other mods as long as you dont raise the boost. But I can personally attest to the Turbonetics kit as I currently own 2 of them. One on my car a 99 civic ex with a built/sleeved B16A running 20 PSI and making 497 HP, and one on my wifes 98 Prelude running 8 psi and making 282 HP. Both of these numbers are at the wheels.)
