ANSWER: (JWT has a pretty nice twin turbo setup they sell (Garrett GT25, GT28, or GT30s) that will run on stock internals. JWT = Jim Wolf Tech Stillen, to my knowledge, only has superchargers available. They have their house-made supercharger and the Vortech supercharger.)

ANSWER: (you need to contact Stillen racing, www.stillen.com, they are the formost experts on 300ZX performance. What I know that you will need is a complete engine rebuild with sleeves, headwork, transmission rebuilt, STRONG clutch, axles, GT35R turbos or larger, complete engine management system, exhaust, suspension, really good set of wheels and tires, and another car to drive daily. These cars get really finicky when above 550-600 rwhp and are hard to drive from stoplight to stoplight in traffic. All in all you can expect to spend in the $15,000-$25,000 range.)

If you want it obnoxiously loud (and illegal) get a catless downpipe. My catted Helix downpipe and SPT catback make a great rumble. AS: you forgot the other 'S' in your name. WRXs and STIs have unequal length headers because of the flat 4 design.)

ANSWER: (put it on a dyno to find out, it's not that expensive. Are you considering buying it? Top speed shouldn't matter, as you will likely never see it. Quarter mile time will matter for a car like that, as you will likely be taking it to the track, so I'd find out about that first. Put it on a dyno if you want to know for sure, and it will be a true test of the HP at the wheels, not at the crank. Don't worry about top speed - it's illegal and you could kill yourself, or me. But drag racing at the track? Oh, that's a different story, go for it!)

hello, i have a 1987 saab 900 turbo and i bought a HKS BOV and i need some help installing, since it also has a stock one but its just to dump it can i keep it on? and just through the BOV on? and will it work? i just need some help installing since i am not too sure how to do it pictures or anything would work! thanks!

ANSWER: (i hope you have the right dump valve (BOV) as the saab uses a recirculating valve! if you have the right one then its a straight swap. if you have the wrong one then it will not fit and even if you do get it to fit then your performance will suffer as the Saab Trionic engine managment will over gas the car. the reason is that the ECM knows how much air has been drawn into the engine via the Mass Air Flow Meter and guages the fuel accordingly. if you dump any air to the atmosphere there will not be enough air for the enige to run! you cannot get a "fast & furious" sounding dump valve for a saab! BUT what you can doo is to change the air filter housing... this means that you can hear the turbo spooling up! simply done - remove the bottom cover of the housing but beware of water intake!)

ANSWER: (You can't find any because your engine can't handle much if any boost. You need to build the motor first then you can pretty much use a kit made for the WRX with some modification and fabrication. That's really your only option other than a swap.)

ANSWER: (There are so many things that you failed to mention, it's impossible to say. 1) Timing settings - too much/little timing retard can ruin your power2) Fuel Settings - go lean, and you won't have power for very long...3) Boost Pressure (bar/psi) - if you don't mention how many psi you are running, there's literally no way of telling how much power you're making4) Turbo size5) volumetric efficiency6) design of charge tubes, manifolds, exhaust.7) etc...... Easiest way is to dyno it. Everything else is just bench racing.)

Turbo kit and BOV suggestions?

I have a 99 GST Spyder, want to do some mod's for more power, not necessarily "trick it out". I am looking at a Garrett T28 turbo kit and a HKS BOV for about a $1000. Any better suggestions or ideas? Appreciate the help all!

ANSWER: (Sorry but the Garret turbo by itself is $1,300. You will also need the manifold, and get a good one, around $800-$1,200, then the new "J" pipe, intercooler piping, and other little fittings. The HKS SSQV BOV is $300 by itself, so your getting a Garrett for $700...........)

ANSWER: (close to 100 more horses then you have now... however, i suggest you upgrade other parts before all that if you want your engine to survive it. You shoud have at least stage 2 parts all the way around before turboing an engine. when i say all the way around i mean everywhere especially stage 2 seals, as opposed to a stock seal. id go with a exhaust and short, then go with the ecu, then get a better fuel delivery system ie pump, valves, throttle, then cams cam shafts, rods pistons, SEALS.... cut weight (gut it) then maybe turbo it. by that time your getting close to spanking vetts... your engine wont survive a turbo with the way you want to go... for long at least. your going to end up shooting a stock rod through your block because of the back pressure on the turbo... thats just what i think... Im an all motor type of person my RSX type S is all motor no turbo and i have over well over 300 horses on a car that weights 2500 lbs)

ANSWER: (The Greddy kit has a Emanage ultimate as part of the kit that is already programmed for the kit, all you do is unplug your factory ECU, plug the harness that comes with the kit into the plugs 1 side the factory wiring, other side the factory ECU, then the third into the Emange, after that all the wiring is done, and its tuned. The HKS however will require you to buy an aftermarket unit and have it tuned. You could go with something as cheap as a Apex'i VAFC neo, or as expensive as a AEM EMS, or Hydra Nemisis.)

ANSWER: (When you say - you "have" an upgrade - does that mean you have it in the box or on the car???????? HKS is a very reliable company with high quality components. I would suggest that you install the kit just as HKS suggests. Meaning that you take every step one at a time and you will be successful in the installation process.If its already installed - then I would suggest leaving it as is. Any modification that hasn't been tested by engineers is a gamble and may lead to more money being spent for you to "become" the engineer - and design and test and redesign and retest. Certainly some people have the resources and time for such activities and some don't. But if you are thinking of using only one turbo from the twin turbo setup then that is a mistake. Try going to a website called turbobygarret.com and research the right size and learn to "read" a compressor map before choosing a single turbo for your setup. As I recall - the really cool aspect of the Supra twin turbo setup is that it uses a smaller turbo for the "get off the line" power and a larger turbo for the "topend" power. ANSWER: (It really depends on what you plan on doing with the car.. most guys I know with WRX/STi's favor the TD06/07 18g/20g, and the GT30XXR models..These are obscenely large turbos, only truly necessary if you have a car that you plan on tracking often, as the supporting mods make the car hard to handle as a DD. I myself only run a P&P'd VF48, the stock turbo from the 2008-09 STi.. still good for 319hp/ 337 tq, on an 07 WRX. All three companies have excellent reps as far as making reliable power.. but IMO, the garrett ball bearing turbos offer quicker spool, and better flow..)

ANSWER: (Both those are decent turbo kits but they are extremely over priced compared to other kits. I would recommend either going the perrin 30r setup or 35r, you can also get the garge tuning kit which is new out there but I know the guy who designed it and it is a great turbo kit and it is cheaper than the perrin one but still makes the same power but has better spool...)
