04 Dodge Stratus R/T turbo?

i have a 2004 dodge stratus rt. it is a v6 3.0 liter. i know they make turbos for the 4 cylinder but this motor is the same in the mitsubishi eclipse and i was wondering if the turbo kit for that car would be suitable for mine?

1996 Dodge Ram 2500, Cummins turbo diesel, single cab, 4x4.I'm looking to put at least 37" tires on it, which I'm sure I'll need at least an 8" lift for that, but from experience, what size lift and/or brand would you recommend? And possibly a website I could go to? Right now I've been on 4wheelparts.com, but is there possibly another place to check?

RCD is probably the best lift kit on the market...yes better than skyjacker but i don't think they've got a lift for our body style they might but i'm not sure. skyjacker i believe makes a 4 and a 6" for it and I'm not sure about the rest rancharo or whatever makes a 4" and tuffcountry does as well i think. I'm not really into lifting trucks...especially ones that sit as high as ours do but neither here nor there i'd try that rocky mountain site or there's ntwonline.com or search national tire and wheel on goole and that'll give you the site. but they sell some lift kits. and you shouldn't need an 8" lift. there's people running 37s with 5" and 6" lifts with no problems. 35's would probably fit under it with some rub but i doubt you'd want to try that and i wouldn't blame you. there's also top gun lift kits. search that on google they might make an 8" for your year. I really don't like top gun lifts but some people would argue with me that they're a good kit honestly i don't know. but those are the sites that I would try. you could also buy a pertersons 4 wheel and offroad magazine they've got a lot of sites advertising in there for lift kits and stuff right along with tires. which is one reason I recommend ntwonline you could get everything in one shot if you could find a lift that would work. you could also try to see if you could make a custom lift. it's a heck of a lot of work and a royal pain but it can be done. good luck with looking though they're a pain to find with that height and for a ram 2500. just make sure you get one for a cummins supprisingly they do differ if it's not listed i would suggest calling to make sure it will fit. good luck)

its a 2.4L stock is around 175hp but I want more. just need to know how much is too much, don't want to hurt the motor or transmission, plus its a daily driver.

ANSWER: (The internals of the motor will not handle much, 6 to 8 pounds is what would be the maximum. You really should rebuild the internals, and also make sure that you upgrade your fuel system as you need to add more fuel.)

ANSWER: (I will have to agree that a 5.7 hemi has much more horsepower potential with the availability of heads/cam swaps to the 6.1, but the 4.7 is still a potent contender. I havent found kits readily available by a trustworthy supplier yet for the 4.7 trucks, but one can be built to taste just as well. Find a reputable speed shop in your area that focuses on forced induction, and go have a talk with them. Installing a turbo isnt as simple as just bolting one on and connecting a few lines. You will have to reprogram the computer and may have to find bigger injectors to keep up with the increased airflow. Timing curve may also have to be adjusted with the boost. ANSWER: (its a fairly simple swap since it is a cable clutch car. you will need to swap out center consoles and also shifters and shifter linkages (there will be 2). you will also need to mount the clutch assembly in the pre tapped and threaded holes under the left side of the dash, then of course there is the matter of the transmission itself, which will be splined the same for the 2.2 liter and the 2.2 liter turbo (should be a garret t2 turbo and manifold for a shelby daytona or a garret turbo 1 for a standard turbo daytona). you will also need to plug or loop off the transmission fluid lines that run to your radiator, you wont need them anymore. There are tons of info on this online and there are several forums just for turbo dodge cars (thedodgegarage and boostedmopar.com to name a few). you can also use the trans out of the turbo lebaron gtc or the glh dodge omni turbo cars however the gear ratios will be slightly lower if using the omni trans. this is only an overview and you will need to search extensively online for all the small things you will also need to do, but hope this gets you started. good luck)

ANSWER: (We installed an STS Turbo on my brothers LS1 Trans Am a couple years ago and I will tell you it made the difference of night and day with the car.... It was awesome! Car went from 320 horse stock to 417 on a dyno with the Squires at 5psi boost. Just know your stock motor's limits and don't do what my brother did.... I told him to not push it past 5psi of boost on the stock motor but he kept messing with it getting it up to 8psi and on that last run he shattered a piston.... Stock motors can handle a good amount of boost however they have limits so if you decide to go with the Squires...do your homework so you don't over-boost it. Good luck)

ANSWER: (For the money you'll spend putting a turbo on your V6 Dakota (including building the rest of the engine up to withstand turbo boost for any amount of time or the cost you'll experience replacing the V6 if you don't build it up to handle boost and it eventually explodes) you could just as easily get rid of the V6 truck you have and get a Dakota that already has a V8 in it and get the same performance benefits and have money to spare. As a bonus, you won't have to worry about the motor blowing itself to bits of shrapnel if you get the V8 truck instead of trying to put a turbo on a V6 motor that certainly wasn't designed to handle a turbocharger of any kind. Fuel-economy-wise you will burn at least as much fuel turbocharging a V6 as you would in a normally aspirated V8. Making extra power requires extra fuel no matter how you get that extra power, be it by turbocharging a V6 or just by having a bigger V8.)

Problems when installing a turbo kit on 98 neon.?

Could someone please explain to me how the Exhaust Manifold, Turbo, Wastegate, and downpipe all go together? Like where they connect. I have a 98 dodge neon with about 310 hp right now and im putting a t3/t4 kit on it. But i dont understand the manifold attachment. Does the downpipe go into the wastegate? Or the turbo? or what. And I CANT FIND A DOWNPIPE ADAPTER FOR A T3/T4 KIT! Any answers would help. Thanks.

ANSWER: (The DOHC cam motor shares NOTHING with the Mitsu SOHC 2.4 motor. If you desire a turbo motor. Look at the SRT4 and PT crusier. If you insist in building a turbo motor. Then use the turbo 2.4 parts. Those parts are stronger then the N/A parts. The turbo oiling system is better because it increases oil flow. I am looking to buy a 2000 Dodge 2500 EXT. Cab short bed 4X4 24-valve Cummins Turbo Diesel and wanted to know what you people thought of them? I also wanted to know if this truck would be a good buy I will copy and paste the stuff on what the seller had to say about this truck. SELLER: "Truck has 235,000 miles but still gets 20mpg and runs great. Motor has an Accel Diesel 3-position chip, 1- stock, 2- 50hp, 3- 90hp, i also put a BD Boost Fooler and built an open air system on it. Exhaust is 4" turbo back that goes into a 5" chrome stack, Transmission was rebuilt at Chance Transmissions, put a TCI Billet Torque Converter, TCI Shift kit, and a TCI deep brushed aluminum trans. pan. Four wheel drive works great, never had a problem, new brakes, has clear corner lights with blue xenon bulbs in them. I have a chrome bull bar with kc lights that will go with it, as well as a set of RCD 6" lift coils and a Rough Country track bar relocation kit. Truck has a 2.5" leveling kit and 305/75/16 tires. inside the center console has wear on it and the driver seat has a hole in it, has a new Sony head unit and a black dash cover, interior is all black and dark grey. But every kit I find is around 2,000 but yet I don't want a cheap one. Does anyone know where I can find a reasonable priced turbo?

ANSWER: (Unless it's an SRT-4, it's not turbocharged to begin with. That means that turbocharging it requires a lot of aftermarket parts (intercooler, boost controller, piping, wastegate, a custom exhaust system, not to mention the cost of installation). So you aren't just paying for a turbo, per se, you're paying for a total engine rework. That's why you're finding all those pricey kits. You might start with something smaller, like stiffer springs, slotted rotors, or strut/sway bars. That way, if you decide to add forced induction later, the car will be more capable of handling the power.)

Will this aftermarket turbo bolt onto my truck?

I got a Garrett turbo a couple days ago and it wasn't made for my truck. Is it true that all turbos are universal fitting? ANSWER: (yes all turbos are universal. you are going to to need a manifold... or 2 i should say because your car is a V8 so one for each head. you would have been better off using a supercharger. If i was you id try and sell or trade the turbo to get a vortex supercharger for your truck.)

ANSWER: (Sure. For about five minutes. And after you spend weeks, getting the pipes rebent, to shapes that actually work for your vehicle. Anyone can u-bend pipes, and call it a turbo kit. Doesn't mean it'll do you any good. The turbos themselves, are cheap chinese knockoffs, and have a 99% chance of exploding within a week or two. Those that don't? About a month or two. Put it this way, and remember this: A turbo costs around $1200-1500, depending on what you get. Sometimes, much more. A full kit, closer to 3000-4000$, for all the pipes, wastegates, etc. So, if you see a turbo kit for 300$, you're getting a kit that is 1/10th as good as a normal one. Do you really want to buy a product that is 1/10th as good? Email me, if you want some help with turbo kits.)

What performance parts to add to 2003 dodge neon r/t?

I have added a hahn turbo kit to my car (everything is stock for r/t model). It went from 120 whp to 215 whp. I am pushing 10 psi with my boost controller. Are there any other performance parts i could add that would either add hp/torque or help my engine stay strong. I can not put in a bigger turbo because I feel like I am pushing the limit on my stock parts. A bigger exhaust wont help much because I already have 3 in pipes. Any help?

ANSWER: (If your serious about the turbo way to go, first check forums. There is almost definitely someone out there that has done the same with your car and knows it back to front. Personal opinion find some low-compression pistons, definitely a cam tuned for forced induction, a proper chip or a standalone and of course larger fuel injectors, pump and rail. Also I don't know what your stock compression ratio is but if its anywhere around 9.5:1, 10lbs is running a serious risk turn it down to 8lbs to be safe. I mean its a neon not an srt-4. It wasn't built to take boost. So built it so it is. You might find that the engine in your car is what the srt-4 is based off of and that many stock srt-4 parts are an upgrade for your engine)
