Honda civic 2001 lx turbo kit?
What type of turbo kit can i buy for my 2001 Honda civic LX? Also what else would i have to buy? And what would i need to buy for my car to make that cool noise when i shift?
ANSWER: (I would seriously consider having someone set it up for you if you don't know that a blow off valve is what makes that "cool noise." There are plenty of professional honda specialist shops that can set you up for probably 3-4 thousand dollars. It'd be money well spent if you ask me. If you do it yourself, be prepared to blow up an engine or two while you're learning. Stay away from the ebay turbo kits, the chinese parts will just cause you headaches. If at all possible, I'd find a cheap older car to learn on, not the car you drive every day.)

What Things do I need to upgrade before putting a turbo kit on my honda civic 1998?
I have d16y7 1.6 engine on it and everything is stock .So How much it will cost to do all that?
ANSWER: (crazy legs is one of those people that knows nothing about cars...and its flat out pathetic that he believes his his 150hp 3.8L v6 is something to brag about...too bad that same year the honda b18c1 was pushing 170hp with only HALF the displacement and 2 cylinders less...but some people just have to lie to themselves to sleep at night i guess anyway with a good tune you could push low boost (7-9 psi) without any engine work at all since your engine already has pretty low compression (9.4:1). however if you're going for economy and want more peace of mind, check out hte honda-tech forums for vitara builds. the MOST IMPORTANT part of boosting a car is the tune, so make sure you get that done right.)

honda civic turbo kit compatibility?
I was wondering if I bought a turbo kit for my d series engine would it fit on a b or h series if i swapped one later.
ANSWER: ("i doubt you'll get it to fit in an H swapped civic. The H22 gives barely enough room for anything in the engine bay, also H22 is not a good motor to turbo because it has thin cylinders and the sleeves are not cast iron." man you are sooooo wrong...look at my civichttp://img94.imageshack.us/img94/4238/sdfgsdfgs5.jpg it does not have thin sleeves.. the h engine uses a fiber reinforced metal (FRM) cylinder wall liner. the cylinder walls are just as thick as other honda engines. every other honda motor used a steel lining...not cast iron. besides the weak point with the h22 and boost is the piston ring lands usually fail after low boost...like 8 lbs. if your running like 6 lbs your safe as longs as you have a good tune. or the wiser option would be to install a set of mahle pistons which work great on stock h22 sleeves. but if you want more..then build it. but to answer your question... if you get one and install it on a d, then switch to a b/h/f/k yes you would need the exhaust manifold, as well as a new down pipe, and would have to tinker with the intercooler piping a little...but thats about it. well besided tuning and misc things like injectors and what not on the new motor)

1998 Honda Prelude turbo kit?
just wondering where I can buy a good quality turbo kit and where I can get it installed in Ottawa, Canada
ANSWER: (Turbokits.com has a good turbo kit for the preludes. I'm getting mine from there, it's the rev hard stage 2 turbo kit and it has everything you will need. I have a 2000 Honda Prelude and I'm turboing it and getting the Apexi N1 Catback exhaust and just make sure you get a good tune after you get in installed. You can run that turbo safely on stock engine running only 7-8 psi and you will love it. You can get it installed at a professional shop or go check a few places that do that kind of stuff. My dad is an automobile technician and installing mine. My Prelude is from Canada but I live in the US.)

What kind of turbo for a Honda Civic 98?
I have a 98 Honda Civic that i want to turbo. I want suggestions on what kind of turbo kit can i use to get max horsepower but wont blow out my engine. It has a 1.6 vtec. Im just looking for opinions. Thanks.
ANSWER: (I agree with the other guys. IT depends on the shape of your engine. If you want to do some serious power, get forged rodes, sleeves and pistons and rebuild that entire motor. Pump no more than 8psi, and you'll have some fun. If you want real power, find a b18 to swap into that baby and consider turboing that.)

ANSWER: (dont trust ebay turbos. in order to get your self a good turbo setup that wont destroy ur motor. get ur self some with a brand. i have a prelude with a h22a4 and this is my list of parts. h22 turbo manifoldGarrett t3/t4 super 60. tial waste-gate (internal spring at 9psi)tial blow off valveaem fuel railaem fuel pressure regulatorwalbro 255 fuel pump450cc fuel injectorshondata s200chipped p28 ecu that's pretty much it for all the major parts, make sure u do not boost over 9psi because the h22s have a high compression ratio and if u boost any higher then 9psi then you will damage your motor internally. and once an h22 in damaged internally the motor is pretty much done with, because the cylinder walls are made up of nylon and carbon fiber and some other light weight fibers, and once there damaged the only way to repair it is if you bore it out, then you'll have to get different pistons and a lot of other annoying B.S. For the exhaust system u can just get any cat back that has good flow. hope this helps, if u have any other questions just let me now)

Where can I find a turbo kit for a 2001 Honda Accord V6 Coupe?
I'm looking for a turbo kit for my 2001 Honda Accord EX-V6 3.0L Coupe. Where can I find one?
ANSWER: (a good, reliable website with name brand turbos is - andysautosport.com I would recommend a skunk2 turbo just my preference.. if you can I would build the turbo custom to your car piece by piece.. as kits cannot compare.. however they will still add a lot of performance.. FYI if you buy a name brand turbo that is reliable you're looking at $2800-5000. don't consider buying a $300-1000 ebay turbo.. you'll not only break it, you'll wreck your engine.)

Does Car Dealers install turbo kits?
I purchase a Greddy turbo kit for my 2008 Honda Civic Si, I don't know any tuning shops around my area so will the dealer take it? do I need to purchase anything else like a custom exhaust and chip or does it come with the turbo kit?
ANSWER: (most dealers want do upgrades like that unless the manufacture has that opiton on that vehicle.so ur best bet would find someone who can do it besides the dealer becuz they want do it.and ur going to need a cumstom fit exhaust becuz a turbo connects to the exhaust and u probaly wont need a chip.depends on how big the turbo is but i would get one to help the comp remeasure air to fuel ratios and get the turbo to kick in.)

Honda civic si year 200 with a garret turbo kit?
I'm considering buying a Honda civic si b16 with a garret turbo kit! would the turbo do much for the car since its a high compression engine already?
ANSWER: (With the b16 you can go safely with about 4 pounds of boost before you have to start changing out motor parts. You will definitely feel the boost, even at 4 pounds, BUT I would not get that car. I guarantee that the person who owned that car has beat the crap out of it. You only boost a car for 1 reason, to go fast, and that is what that person did. That engine was not built for a turbo, and a turbo would diminish the life of that motor greatly. It will not be too long before that car is going to need some major repair, which is why he is probably selling it.)

Honda prelude turbo kit?
Right now i have exhaust and intake in it right now. What i want to do is turbo it, i no i must buy the kit, tune it, chip it, new sensors maybe a new throttle body, im jw how far the down pipe is off. Well i no i can do this later on im going to UTI i no i can get more questions answered there but i just like to know more about my car. I got my car caverned which im mad about i didnt do it my anyway i no i can get that tuned i just wanna make this car not a different car go faster. thanksThe down pipe off the the turbo to exuast? so your telling me if i do spend the money on a good turbo it will come with a new ecu? so it tunes it self where can i find a kit is there any one ebay? The down pipe off the the turbo to exuast? so your telling me if i do spend the money on a good turbo it will come with a new ecu? so it tunes it self where can i find a kit is there any one ebay?
ANSWER: (What's your question?? If you buy a real turbo kit(complete) there is no tuning required, because a complete kit like Greddy already comes pre tuned with a piggy back or replacement ecu, you do not need new sensors or throttle body, they are just extra power adderwhat pipe are you talking about?? edit:A complete kit(never buy that cheap Ebay crap)will come with everything you need, injectors, down pipe, the works, and the piggy back ecu that comes with the kit is already pretuned to work with stock or mildly modded engines turbonetic,Greddy, rev hard, eldelbrock,HKS,These turbo kit comes complete and ready to bolt right up and comes with everything you need, down pipe are the corrected lenght, and ecu are pre tuned (it does not tune it self) just plug it up and go Ebay kit are cheap and dangerous for your engineIf you find someone on ebay selling a genuine complete kit like a HKS or Greddy, than go ahead and buy it, but those other cheap universal $700 kit are crap,)

Turbo on a 2005 Honda Civic LX Sedan?
I want to install a turbo kit on my Civic. What would I have to do to ensure I don't affect the reliability of my car as much as possible?
ANSWER: (well, there are many things to be done when it comes to turbocharging a naturally aspirated car...You must consider the size of the turbo, and the amount of pressure. Things like your fuel pump, fuel rails, spark plugs, headers will probably need to be replaced. Also to get the kind of upgrade in power that you want, you must boost the car pretty high, but when doing this your engines internals must be replaced to ensure reliability. Turbocharging is a costly thing. Also when it is not done right, major problems can arise. I recommend you research a little more, and maybe search for performance shops in your area. These kinds of shops can explain everything to you in detail. Also they can give you a price estimate. In the turbo business, you do GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!)

Honda Civic Turbo Kit? How much?
How much would it cost for me to get a complete Turbo kit for my 1991 honda civic. My buddy and i can put it in, but we need to see where i could order it from and how much it ll cost. So anythings appreciated
ANSWER: (Personally, it helps when people give more information than that! What model is your 1991 Civic? Is it a DX or Si?Secondly, how many miles are on your car?Have you swapped out the original motor or done a rebuild lately? How much more power are you looking to produce? How much boost do you plan on running? What is your budget? Get what I am saying? To be honest with you, I would say that Greddy is a great turbo kit to use especially if you have never owned a turbocharged vehicle or dont have any experience with turbo kits. Greddy sells a complete kit that has everything you need to perform the install. Just note that the Intercooler and Blow Off Valve are not included. Those will run you about $800 for intercooler, and anywhere from $200-$350 for the BOV, depending on which valve you choose to use. This kit makes respectable numbers out of the box and does not require extensive mods and tuning out of the box. I would recommend that you avoid the REV Hard Kits, Turbonetics, and XS Engineering Kits until you get some experience under your belt, or you require kits if those particular trims to make high horsepower track ONLY numbers. These kits require an extensive knowledge of turbochargers, fuel injector maps, fuel injector size for a particular application, fuel injector duty cycles, Air/ Fuel Ratios, Wastegates, Proper compression ratios for boosted applications, etc. Without this knowledge, your car will KABOOM very quickly. Buy the Greddy kit. Your car and wallet will love you more. Just stay away from boost controllers with this kit until you learn the ropes of turbochargers and supporting mds for your particular application. Just remember one thing, your stock rods will not hold up beyond 9psi. They will snap like toothpicks. Greddy comes out of the box regulated at 7psi.)

Is there a Turbo kit for a 1991 Honda Accord?
That's a good price that will fit and work on the stock engine or does it have to be a different engine.
ANSWER: (I think turbonetic has a t3t4 kit for the accord f22 engineand it should work on stock enginesthe kit is a complete kitbut it will run you some where around 3-4kand it's always better to build your block to handle ANY king of boost For the price of a turbo kit, I reccomend a h22 swaphp will be right around the same, and you might even save a little money with the swap)
-
Will installing a turbo kit on a new Honda S2000 reduce the life of the engine?
Could it have any other adverse effects on the vehicle in the long run?
ANSWER: (When you add more horsepower especially in the form if forced induction you put more stress on the engine which in turn can lower the life of the engine. And when you have more pwer you tend to run the car harder. But if you through on the turbo kit and do everything correct get it dyno tunned at a lower boost level then you should be okay.)
-
honda turbo kit installation?
how much trouble is it to install a turbo kit on a non vtec honda accord lx 94 model?
ANSWER: (It is not something to try if you don't know what your doing, you have to run return lines from the turbo to the oil pan which requires welding and brazing if you dont have a aftermarket oil pan with a inlet. Charge piping, intercooler, blowoff valve on the charge pipe, manifold, turbo, FMU, wastegate, injectors, possibly fuel pump depending on how much psi your running, map sensor depending on how much psi your running. A piggy back system such as E-manage at the least, wire in a boost gauge, there is alot involved to do it right.)

turbo for stock honda?
http://www.modacar.com/products/Honda/Civic/GTKit/GReddy+Turbo+Kit.html Would that be good for a stock Honda Civic, year ranging from 98-02Sorry im new to this. What if i already purchase a civic with a vtec engine, then would i be able to add turbo? Or more work would need to be added, if so, how much. Thank your for your time.
ANSWER: (Everyone is wrong. kits engineered by greddy, hks, an so on are designed to b a true bolt on kit. this meaning u DO NOT have to do any internal mods at all. as long ar u follow the manufacturers recommended boost levels. u can run 8-10psi on a stock motor)

How can you turbo a Honda V-Tec?
I know there's Honda V-Tec motors with turbo kits, but I don't get how that would work because V-Tec motors are designed to make lots of power with forced induction. Plus, aren't they high compression so wouldn't a turbo make it blow up? Do they change the pistons/heads to lower the compression ratio?I don't own a Honda, does it say that I own a Honda buddy?
ANSWER: (It's all about the tuning and the engine management. The only "problem" with turbocharging a VTEC engine is making the torque curve flatter, instead of ending up with a sudden power spike when VTEC engages. Any decent engine/dyno tuner shouldn't have an issue dealing with this "problem". A higher compression engine means more power with less boost. Of course it also comes with a greater risk for detonation, that's where the tuning comes into play. But the Hondas and Acuras pushing an above average amount of power 400-600+ WHP, have replaced the stock connecting rods, sleeves, and pistons with aftermarket ones. At that power level, people do head work (port & polish work), and upgrade the camshafts (along with valvetrain). But that's not really for safety as much as just for added power; the head work & cams I mean. Unfortunately, about half of the Honda owners out there simply slap on pre-made turbo kits and drive without a second thought. Those people eventually do blow up their engines, and get an expensive lesson.)

What parts of a Turbo kit do I need?
I'm looking for a turbo kit for my Honda D-series engine. I've been looking around and I see kits that have 9 parts in them and I see kits that have 49 parts in them. What's the bare minimum I need for I turbo kit. I'm not a racer, some of the kits say TXGLKWR blah blah blah racing kit street demon blah blah blah. I just want to know what I NEED in a turbo kit to make it work.
ANSWER: (http://www.honda-tech.com/ You'll find a lot more help there. I don't know enough yet about turbo kits to give advice yet but the guys at that website know what they're doing.)

Stock Honda, new turbo ?
I own my 2000 Honda accord with stock f23a1 engine and I want to put the turbonetics turbo kit in it but I want to know what the proper air to fuel ratio should be if I want to run it 6-8 psi 6, 7 psi most of time and how would I find and change the ratio
ANSWER: (14.7 is the ideal a/f. you will want to run a little rich to be on the safe side. when you run lean is when you damage the engine. to find the a/f ratio you need a wideband o2 sensor. to adjust it you need to have the car tuned on a dyno)
