Can you turbo charge a 2007 jeep liberty?
I'm wondering if i can do it successfully with the right amount of cash. I was looking into buying this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Liberty-T3T4-Turbo-Charger-Kit-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem518f480527QQitemZ350296212775QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories But i hear that the pistons in the 3.7 V6 in my jeep wont be able to handle it...but i hear they have jeep liberty's that come turbo charged. Please help
ANSWER: (The only jeep liberty that is turbo charged has a diesel engine. You could turbo charge anything for the right amount of money. But there could be a lot of fabricating to make it work. The stock piston would be fine if the boost was under six lbs.)

Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ supercharger ideas and question?
Ive got an 02 Grand Cherokee WJ. I am thinking of getting a supercharger kit for it and having it installed. I have been checking ebay and other online stores. Wondering what the difference between a turbo supercharger kit and a regular supercharger kit is. Also I found a T3T4 Turbocharger Turbo kit for $400. Wondering if any one has any thoughts on those. Let me know. Thanks

bolt on jeep 4.0 dohc 24v head 300 hp kit for $3k, would you buy one?
i found a guy making 24v dohc kits for the straight 6 4.0 engine that basically turns your tired old ohv 12 valve jeep motor into the equivalent of porsche or supra engine with as much hp as a stock vortec 454 & as much torque as a 350 or 360 magnum-with 5-10 mpg better depending on how you drive it. this all sounds swell to me and it would be very nice considering it comes with a custom intake manifold & short ram air filter, head, all the gaskets & hookups, & headers to match, and it would be SWEET to have the power to take on an evo or z28/mustang (the 90's jeep 4.0's are that light, look it up) & then tell them i dont nos, supercharger, or turbo, & that my mpg is better than theres & my all motor engine is better-BUT $3k! what do you guys think? just for the sake of arguement if i can sit in on & watch em run one of these on a dyno-is it worth the price?this comes with an ecu chip to completely remap the ecu as well as the larger required injectors, the fp to run it all, the intake manifold, header, timing equipment etc...the dohc is setup with timing gears & a chain setup like that of a 99+ dodge 2.7 dohc v6 where the cams are chained together & then only 1 of the cams on each side needs to be turned. also the original head/cam assembly gets removed & blocked off (most of it)
ANSWER: (i have the same engine and i wouldn't put something like that in my jeep if i didn't know much about it. I mean people have come up with some really creative idea for more horse power and more torque but it sounds too good to be true. so IMO i wouldn't do it, 3K is cheap for something so extravagant, i'd really watch what i got into!)

2003 Jeep Wrangler power upgrades?
I want to hear some ideas, from intakes, superchargers, turbo kit, swapping intake manifolds, adjusting fuel pressure. I have a jet chip now and I drive it everyday and I'm looking for some more power to make it a little more fun again. All I have is a jet chip no other mods. Do I have a H.O. Intake manifold? give some ideas this should be fun. thanks.I have heard guys throwing rods in those stroker 4.7 kits. Am i mistaken? I might do a stroker kit once my engine get a little older and tire. Yea stuff a 600 hp in my wrangler that would be sick! If i had that engine I would stuff it in a cuda first.
ANSWER: (new exhaust. cold air intake. spark plugs (every little bit counts). premium fuel.)

Where can I get a full turbo kit for a 2006 jeep wrangler rubicon?
I want to put a turbo in my 06 rubicon. But im not sure where to get it i can't find very many site on the internet that sells them and the 1 i did find was $5,000. so does any body know any good or cheap places?
ANSWER: (i would look into a supercharger, turbos have lag, they are better suited for high rpm performance(given that it is powered by exhaust gases). With a jeep you would benefit more from an increase in horsepower and torque throughout the whole rpm range, with your drop off coming on the higher rpm range.)

How do I get better mileage with my lifted Jeep ?
I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler that I recently put a 4 inch pro comp lift kit on with 33 inch mud tires. I love it but... I have really noticed a difference with the amount of fuel I'm using. Also , I dont seem to have the power that I did before. I've heard of some sort of turbo/power booster or something like that. Does anyone know what I might be talking about ? I'm not exacltly mechanically inclined and would love any information or tips on this. Thanks p.s. its a V6, if that helps.
ANSWER: (I started with the same lift though I've swapped to Currie Enterprises control arms now. I have 33" Goodyear MTR's fitted and had my axle diffs regeared to 4.56 ratios. My original gears were 3.07. With the regearing done I get a bit less MPG for city driving because of the extra effort required to accelerate the heavier tyres but I can get the same MPG on highway runs as I did when the Jeep was stock. With the regearing done you will get more torque and power back at lower speeds. If it's a manual you might find that your highest gear is useless. Before regearing mine I had to drive a couple of hundred miles back home in high winds and I had to use third gear all the way home. That would be like 4th in a six speed manual. You may need to sort your speedo out too if you haven't already. If you have a 231 transfer case it's just a matter of swapping the speedo gear. If you have a Rubicon with the 241 it has to be done electronically. If it's an auto an incorrect speed reference could be causing problems with the revs the autobox is changing gear at. The engine isn't a V6 by the way - unless it's been swapped out - it's an inline six - I6.)

Ways to pimp out a jeep?
Hey, I have a '92 Jeep YJ ( yellow ) it has a 4 inch lift kit and a Panasonic cd deck along with a 10'' sub and 2 6by9's. Its really a great jeep. Reliable as well, I'm just wondering ways I can make it more of an eye turner ( maybe under the hood wise? ) I dont know much about turbos, or air intake or anythng under the hood really.. but I'd like to give this jeep full power! oh its just a 4cylinder if that matters... thanks!
ANSWER: (dont do eny to your 4 bangger it will blow up trust me i know)

I have a jeep liberty 2.8 liter turbo diesel engine. What turbo is in it and what would the next size up be?
I'm looking to upgrade the turbo and already have a propane kit, nitrous kit, and a power chip. How much boost can I build before I have problems?
ANSWER: (The Liberty CRD has a DDC-Cento engine (formerly VM Motori) running a GTA2260V turbo. Out of the box it runs at 26.5 psi, pretty high so you're not going to get a whole lot more boost without engine mods, it's a pretty decent setup. If you really want to up the actual turbo you could go to a unit like the Garret GT2056V which will up the psi a bit. You can adapt one off a 2003 Grand Cherokee CRD, if you can find one. You might consider something like the Greddy Turbo Timer, blow-off valve setup and so on. Just for thought, I've seen some swaps with Saab turbos and I've heard, but not seen myself, of Volvo turbo swaps, mainly for the faster ramp up time. Also, the Liberty engine was originally based on a Mercedes design, I'd take a peak at a Mercedes turbo in a junkyard; I've seen the modded to a Jeep 2.5, so...???)

i have a 2004 4.0 jeep cherokee and i wana boost it some how..?
i have a 2004 jeep cherokee and i wana boost it. i heard kenny bell was good for supercharger's but i cant find one for my 4.0 jeep cherokee. so if anyone can get a price or anything on a turbo kit or supercharger it would be greatly appreciated...
ANSWER: (i found this on another forum "Do you really want to spend that amount of money for a supercharger. There are many other ways to gain hp and it is a lot cheaper and dosent hurt things like the gas milage. Small hp gains can be made with cheaper things like throttle body spacers, cold air intake, chips (little pricey),headers and exhaust, Ignition, cams, cranks. Other than that im not sure on pricing for superchargers but im sure that they are around $2,000 plus installation. " i do agree with that statement or go looking for a 4.7. i know when i drive my friends jeep (6 cylinder) it feels realy slow. then i hop in mine and its like i got supercharger lol gas milage isnt all that worse i get 18mpg(v-8) on highway driving at 70-75. in city about 14-16mpg)

Is it possible to run a turbo on a jeep straight six and get good power off road?
I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee and i have a turbo kit for a R8A6 motor and there both straight sixes my problem is not mounting it on the jeep its if it will run right.
ANSWER: (If you're running on the dunes, mudding, need to spin the tires for wet rock, or dirt racing yes the turbo will help. If you're rockcrawling, following a trail in the trees, water crossing, steep hill climbing or anything that needs traction the turbo will be useless. Peak torque on the six is around 1800rpm. Most turbos only start to produce power at the point. So you'll only boost when you're nearly at WOT.)

should i put a turbo on my Jeep?
I own a 1997 4.0 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 I want to turbo charge it but I cant find any turbo kits for it. The other thing is I want to make it faster dose any one know of any other performance upgrades I can at to make it faster?
ANSWER: (Go to your local performance shop, write them a large check, and they will install a turbocharger system for you. Look for a supercharger kit. They work almost as well as a turbo, but are much easier and cheaper to install.)
