turbonetics for jetta 1.8t??
ok so i have a 2000 jetta 1.8t, and i would like to install a stronger turbo. i was thinking about turbonetics, so i went on their site and they dot ask or show what car the turbo is for. so my question is, what kind of turbo from that brand can i get for my car that will give me around 250-300 hp and will i have to change any engine internals. Also is the K04 any good? and around how much hp will it bring me up to with stock internals? friend has 93 accord with an H22 engine(2000 prelude, around 200hp ) and i want to smoke him.
ANSWER: (I'm not sure a K04 will get you to 300 HP, but I know you'll smoke the 200hp accord idiot with it. I personally would go with: http://store.blackforestindustries.com/spa70tu.html)

What would be a good synthetic motor oil for a 2008 2.5i?
I use the car as a daily will have about 350 HP after I install the performance parts: Turbonetics Turbo, KN Cold Air Intake, TMIC Perrin. Thanks.
ANSWER: (I would use a high quality API SM-CF rated 0W-30 motor oil. In the past, I used Amsoil 0W-30 and got great performance and much improved gas mileage over petroleum. If your engine's seals are still strong and not leaking oil, and if you're not burning oil, then the Amsoil will be a great choice. I found out that Subaru has a TSB # 02-103-07 that addresses an issue with an oil screen clogging issue and for this reason it is highly recommended that your Subaru's oil be changed and the oil screen inspected and cleaned every 3,750 miles or 3-3/4 months per Subaru's recommendation.)

how can i find out the size of a turbo wastegate?
how do i measure it? how can i find out? it's a Turbonetics Evolution wastegate. someone please help!? it's this one: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=389&ssid=8126682&rurl=nid,218,ad,8126682,lpid,,cat,103
ANSWER: (If your question is a matter of size and dimension I think you might want to just measure it with a caliper. I think most of the time these wastegates are measured based on the power of the spring that is inside of that device. They are designed to hold boost up to a certain p.s.i. correct? If so, then it should not be a matter of size.)

How much hp can at Turbonetics T3 50 trim .63 a/r turbo produce?
its a t3 turbonetics turbo 50 trim with .63 a/r 5 bolt discharge and i was wondering how much i can get out of it on a 240sx with a ka24de
ANSWER: (There are to many variables first is (displacement) secondly (friction). 2,500cc bored out KA-24DE motor could be as large a 5.0 liter motor with 28 PSI boost. (heat) In an ideal world where you could ask a small motor with low coolant flow to be twice as big and not melt down. And (lubrication) at higher crank and connecting rod stresses. There may not be a good choice of custom stronger parts The engine control management (electronics). Then feeding the engine the correct helpings of (air) flow. and (fuel) injected into the motor. Once you exceed horsepower the transmission can handle and twist off a drive shaft break rear axle flanges and blow up differentials. Of course with unlimited money a lot of power can be produced. Indy car Offenhauser motors of the same displacement back 1960's with turbo and fuel injection produced 950 hp for as long as 1000 miles and were run at over 10,000 rpm. And I think those Offy indy motors were more highly engineered than the old KA-2.4 long stroke truck like motor. Your car may not be (legal) to return to public highways. Good Luck)

What parts do I need for a 08 WRX conversion? Easy 10 points.?
I have a 08 2.5i and i can't trade up for a 08 WRX. I want to have the same engine but just convert it to a 08 WRX.I am getting a Turbonetics Turbo, and a Perrin Intercooler.Exterior what do i have to do?How much will it cost me if i bought the parts five years ago?
ANSWER: (If you can't trade up to a WRX, then you sure as heck can't convert your car to one. This will cost you more to do than it would for you to just trade in your car for the WRX. You would need interior, exterior, suspension, driveline, transmission. Also, don't forget the downtime that you will incur while the project invariably takes longer than necessary, so you won't have your "WRX" for 2 years, I bet. By the way, check the links. In addition to good info, you will realize that people come here and ask this question ALL THE TIME.)

LS1 single turbo build?
long story shorti started ordering parts today.. i ordered a Turbonetics, GT-K650 (yeah the new ones), HP Newgen wastegate, Godzilla blow-off valve, and another Mast M90 ECM.. i don't plan on starting the build until the weather turns crappy for winter.. however i plan on doing the turbo on the passenger side, no intercooler but a cold air intake to keep the lag to a minimum.. but my biggest dilema is routeing the driverside header and tubing to the passenger side for y pipe prior to turbo.. should i route the piping infront of the engine or behind the engine.. i heard it was much easier to route it behind the engine but i also heard that havng that extreme heatsource so close to the firewall can really heat up the inside.. I also ordered a callies crankshaft, manley I beam rods (i don't plan on exceeding the capabilities of I beam rods) and JE pistons.. thanks to steve schmidt racing.. also i'm just curious but for only pushing 14psi and keeping this car daily driver friendly (however doubtful it will be a daily driver) do you think i should have the motor sleeved with darton interlocking sleeves for integrity.. i don't want to bore the motor out over stock so i really don't see this as necessary but just a reliability thought..
ANSWER: (answers-i would go ahead and pipe the exhaust around the back of the engine.. use some good high quality wraps for all of the exhaust components to lower temperature in the engine bay.. i'm not sure as to why you chose I beam rods compared to H beam rods but i would recommend H beams and On the sleeve question.. i wouldn't right now however in a year or so after you have everything completed a sleeve kit from darton would ensure the engines durability also-going without an intercooler would be fine.. i see your trying distribute power across the powerband instead of keeping it all at the top.. a good choice actually.. because sitting in traffic in this car with a intercooler would probably heat the air up above ambient.. alot of people don't understand a intercooler on works when your in motion.. anothing thing.. if you haven't thought already.. using a water/meth injection kit could really help you achieve extra performance.. they make kits that only apply the water/meth under WOT.. i've seen people use small fuel cells to hold the water/meth in their trunk.. overall this a well thought out build.. did steve schmidt racing help you with the components you chose? I've seen one of their 427ci ls6s a while back before the ls7 came out it was a monster)

Where could I find a turbo kit for a `95 Subaru Impreza?
It's a 1995 Impreza with a 1.8L boxer 4 engine.. I've looked around on a few sites [turbonetics, HKS,..] but I mainly all I could find were the WRX/STI Imprezas >___< Could a turbo kit for one of them fit my '95 Impreza...?
ANSWER: (You can't find any because your engine can't handle much if any boost. You need to build the motor first then you can pretty much use a kit made for the WRX with some modification and fabrication. That's really your only option other than a swap.)

Putting in a turbo... what else needs to be upgraded (Nissan Skyline GT-R RB26DETT)?
Say I have an R34 GT-R RB26DETT... I want to put in a Turbonetics HP-66 Turbo, and bring my horsepower up to about 650. What else do I need to do to my car to get it to pump out that horsepower, besides tuning the ECU and ROM, upgrading the injectors, new exhaust, and intercooler? Can someone help me out please?

how much horsepower would a 96 civic hatch have if it has a t3 t4 turbo?
it also has a sohc mini me swap K & N cold air intake Aem Fuel Rail MSD Ignition Venom intake manifold Turbonetics t3 t4 turbo HKS blow off valve
ANSWER: (There are so many things that you failed to mention, it's impossible to say. 1) Timing settings - too much/little timing retard can ruin your power2) Fuel Settings - go lean, and you won't have power for very long...3) Boost Pressure (bar/psi) - if you don't mention how many psi you are running, there's literally no way of telling how much power you're making4) Turbo size5) volumetric efficiency6) design of charge tubes, manifolds, exhaust.7) etc...... Easiest way is to dyno it. Everything else is just bench racing.)

94 accord lx turbo for $7000, is it worth it?
i have my eyes on on 94 accord wiht H22a motor swap, T4 Turbonetics Turbo with Anti-Lag System,HKS Wastegate,HKS SQV Blowofff valve,Blitz Intercooler,HKS Turbo Timer, 3" Manderal Bent Exhaust with AEM Exhaust.Extreme Demensions 7 Piece Body kit and 90 degree lambo door kit. ANSWER: (I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT. I'm sorry, but that sounds like a mod list from a ricer... Anti-lag system? You mean a misfiring system which will kill the engine in no time? WHY? Also, 350whp in an Accord with all of the extra weight from the body kit and lambo door setup is NOT going to run 11's. Move on man, sorry to tell ya. Sounds like another idiot ricer trying to unload a worthless car on someone who won't know any better.)

ANSWER: (Your mod list is pretty good, except for I would ditch Hondata as it's garbage and go for Ectune. Look like all you need is pistons/rods and you're ready for more boost. Currently I wouldn't push it past 350WHP on a nearly perfect tune as B16 ringlands and rods are going to be the weakest point. Make sure timing isn't too agressive and the meth injection should help you out a little bit with detonation. Your turbine is really good combo for the motor as is, but if you're shooting for higher HP, the log mani will have to go and the small ass exhaust housing if you're going to push more boost, because more boost = more heat build-up. The Heartbreaker - Amount of boost means nothing, it's all about how much a turbine can flow resulting in WHP. It's not amount boost that break OEM internals, it's the HP. Compression also doesn't really matter, it's the strength of the internals. I personally have a friend who is running 10:1 compression LS-Vtec making over 620WHP for a couple of years now. You're right with one thing, on a B16 having any detonation will result in immediate failure, they're not forgiving like the LS motors are.)

Turbo size for a stock Mazda B2500/2300 Pickup?
I'm thinking of turbocharging my Mazda pickup truck. It's a 2000 B2500, but the engine was bad when we got it, and the engine we put in it is a 1997 2300 (2.3L). The truck is completely stock, which is why I'd like to turbocharge it. The damn thing couldn't get out of its own way if it needed too; it's so low on power. The engine is in good working condition and doesn't require any cleaning. I may end up boring and stroking the engine to its maximum allowable specs, but I'm not sure yet. I know pretty much what I need to get, just need a little help on locating and sizing a thing or two. First, being a stock 2.3, how big (or small) of a turbo should I get? Also, where would be the best place to buy a turbo from? Should I buy online direct from a manufacturer (such as Greddy, Turbonetics, etc.) or go through a distributor? And where would I find a manifold that is set up for a turbo? Or could I modify my stock manifold to fit a turbo?Ok, the reason we bought the truck, was it was only $1500, and the only thing wrong with it was the engine. The replacement engine was even included in the price. The truck is in excellent shape. No rust, only a few dings and scratches here and there. It drives great with the exception of it being a little down on power. And in case anyone didn't already know, the Mazda B-series trucks are basically Ford Rangers. So any info regarding a Ranger should apply to this truck aswell.
ANSWER: (First off , why did you buy it.2nd the money you put out for that junk truck is not worth it.3rd BUY A BETTER VEHICLE !!!!!)

Is it possible to have a Injen Cold Air Intake System and a Turbonetics complete turbo kit?
This is all for a 2006 Scion tC.
ANSWER: (technically, yes you can but you will have to modify the intake to fit. it will not fit right in because the turbo kit and its components take up too much room in the engine bay. im sure if you took it to a shop and told them to make your cai fit they could do it, but i'm pretty sure they'd have to cut it or in some way make it smaller.)

Turbo upgrade for an evo.?
Looking at a slightly used turbonetics t3/t4 turbo. Its slightly used but very clean and in perfect shape. I know with a new manifold i can make it fit but i am wondering what gains can i expect and if 500 dollars cash for this part is reasonable. (never did a turbo upgrade b4 and am looking for opinions so please any suggestions on other turbos to look at i will definitely appreciate it.)I have already put in better injectors and an aftermarket pump. I also have an aem boost gauge with controller. I am not most people for this is a track car that i am looking to hit best times with. Just asking what the upgrade will do, i know the basics.
ANSWER: (There is no need to upgrade the turbo unless your about to replace fuel injectors, fuel pump. fuel management system and have it tuned. that car will hit fuel cut once your boosting 21lbs anyways and the stock turbo does that no prob. I suggest if you have not installed a good boost guage and a boost controller start there. Its more than fast enough for most people. You can do this for under 200.00)

Can you use existing Scion tc cold air intake with new turbonetics turbo kit?
I have a injen cold air intake(NOT a short ram intake) and im seriously considering getting the turbonetics turbo kit for the tc and plan to just bolt it on at 8 psi and not doing any other mods to the car and my question is will my intake work the same or better with the kit? the kit comes with a short ram intake and i dont know if thiers any significance to the fact its a short ram and i dont know how the differently tuned intake will work. Experts help! Owners help!
ANSWER: (Well from the looks of it the intake will have to go with all the kits i am looking at i linked you to what im sure you have already seen. I think perhaps the Iject intake you have will possibly have to get taken out for whatever kit you have in here. It could possibly throw some stuff off time. Im sure if you want to keep your intake though maybe a pro could jerry rig it although whats the point when the kits have a nice intake for show! hehe! Good Luck on your project!)

ANSWER: (turbotoyotaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. seriously, turbotoyota. you will get the most gains seen out of any bolt on kit on the market right now. i have a friend whose on the stage 1 turbotoyota kit making 310 whp and 272 torque @ 10psi off of this bolt on kit. he does have the aftermarket exhaust which also does help with the hp. actually, for the tc's the pistons already come sleeved. you also do not need to install a fuel pump either. these kits were made to work with the tc's stock parts. the engine already comes with sleeved pistons which is why the engine can handle up to 350 hp on stock internals. once you go above the 350 hp mark, then yes you will need to strengthen in the pistons, etc. you will also need to upgrade your clutch after installing the stage 1 kit, as the added power will cause your tranny to slip (manual) or warp (auto). but yeah, on top of the installation of the kit, you need to pay for gauges, gauge pod, exhaust, upgraded clutch, tune, and you should also have some money left over for the "just in case" situations. you kinda need to plan for the worst when installing and driving a turbocharged car, since it was n/a to begin with the likelyhood that something bad may happen is greater than a stock turbo car. just pay attention to the car, maintain it properly and it should be okay. go to the link and to the forum, talk to a guy named java09. ask him about his turbotoyota kit.)

are turbos with no brand name still good?
do turbo brands matter like would a turbonetics t 60 turbo be better than a cheap t 60 turbo that has no brand, my question is kind of like comparing Coke with shasta they both look the same and taste the same but shasta is cheaper but is still good
ANSWER: (You get what you pay for. It might cost half as much and surely some of the difference is the name but most of the difference will come from cheaper materials and poor quality engineering. Considering the cost of a buying, installing, and tuning a turbo you should make sure to buy a quality product.)

turbocharging a 02 sentra spec v?
I was looking at a turbonetics bolt on but i've read that when you turbo charge a normally aspirated engine, you want to lower the compression to 8-9.5. Also, would it be wise to use forged rods/pistons at 8 psi? If i decided to up the psi to lets say 15 then what?
ANSWER: (its generally safe to say that the manufacturers of bolt on installations are concerned with the extent of boost/retune necessary for installation on an engine with stock internals. that's why most of the installs are "staged" low boost is a junior intall, stock internals, mild tune, higher boost - dependent on engine enhancement. think likely since this is a bolt on you're ok at mild boost (8lbs) with high octane and pro tune. so, best bet talk to the tech line support at turbonetics, and get on a nissan performance forum, and talk to guys that have done the install. if you are assessing your power up otions, you should also consider the budget - but high - same boost alternative, a nitrous kit....that would likely be the direction i would look at 1st. cheers, 04 cobra)

i am planning on modding my car what steps in preparation can i take?
i got a 03 nissan sentra se-r/ spec-v , and i am new to the mod scene of things. i have a turbo kit picked out and a set of headers and exhaust, i have not bought them yet. what i was wondering is how much can my baby handle before it explodes....lol. ummm what steps i should take to prepare myself and my engine for that kinda punishment. i know it could probably handle it, i just want a more technical look at it rather than just strapping shit to my car and hoping for the best. i am planning on using a turbonetics turbo kit, and a nismo exhaust, and i forgot which headers i looked at, they ran about 700 dollars, if anyone has any input on what i can do to make sure my baby is alright i would be glad to hear it. also what can i do with that to crank out the most horses??? as allways thanks for your time.
ANSWER: (Well for one thing if your going turbo you will not need headers! I hope you meant a turbo manifold but You did state a Turbo Kit, Kits usually consist of Turbo, Manifold, Injectors, Oil feed line, Intercooler, all necessary piping to install it correctly and a few other stuff ....You might need to get your own downpipe and your computer remapped depending on your set up and where you MAF maxes out at. A kit should come with all the major things you need, I have herd of spec-v T3/T4 set ups running 7psi with a little over 300 Whp and trust me thats plenty
High 12's Low 13's 1/4 Mile Now if you want some good power now until you have collected all your money/parts for that project. There is a trick to the oil pan not really a trick but a removable part that frees up horse power. You can also do a lightened flywheel, performance tires, lightened pullies, light wheels "Nissan's are a whole new animal with these minimal mods" and all these mods can be still used for your turbo set up so no money lost. Oh and when you are Turbo or if you stay all motor Nissans LOVE Cams P-E-R-I-O-D Here's a great site to check for Step-by-step Guides, FAQ, and all the info you need for your Spec-V www.myspecv.com) -
Stock Honda, new turbo ?
I own my 2000 Honda accord with stock f23a1 engine and I want to put the turbonetics turbo kit in it but I want to know what the proper air to fuel ratio should be if I want to run it 6-8 psi 6, 7 psi most of time and how would I find and change the ratio
ANSWER: (14.7 is the ideal a/f. you will want to run a little rich to be on the safe side. when you run lean is when you damage the engine. to find the a/f ratio you need a wideband o2 sensor. to adjust it you need to have the car tuned on a dyno)

Need some turbo help???
I have a 00 accord with the f23a1 engine and I am ready to buy the turbonetics turbo kit. But before I can get it my dad wants to know what damage the turbo would do to the engine if the psi is set to high and what would happen if the air to fuel ratio isn't right. So if the damage was that the valves getting burned some how why and how would this be happening... This is just an ex. I don't know wat I'm talking about
ANSWER: (break a piston, and or connecting rods, drop valves it really depends...ive seen rods shot through hoods it all depends really on how big of a turbo you are getting.Boost which with turbos creates lag..therefore ive seen problems when the lag catches up with the turbo all the torque and hp is kicked in at once building up and peaking the problem is when it kicks in and when it peaks its a sudden jolt or u feel a giant pull coming on this means the rpms are climbing ver very fast and then things break...so do your research well and u should be fine..)
